Matthew Tauber was crippled down to his last 700,000 when Kevin Ta’s Ace-Eight caught up with Tauber’s Ace-Nine on the river, and a few hands later, the two did battle again. This time, Tauber’s [Jd][3d] was dominated by the pocket queens of Ta. The board brought no miracles for Tauber, who became the first victim of the unofficial final table.
Tauber performed quite the feat today. He started the Day 2 finals with 41,000 in chips, which was good enough for 166th out of 168 players. Well, he spun those eight big blinds into a solid $4,250 payday. Congratulations Matthew!
